All the way into silly season now and I’m preparing myself for a summer break with my son. Soon we’ll be departing to Turkey, Poland and Italy.
Now of course with this comes that perennial problem: what camera to bring with me.

My heart says Hasselblad 907x 100c. But it’s not the most practical camera for this trip and shooting under European summer sunlight with an external backscreen seems like a bad idea to me.

Taking performance and practicality alone, no doubt the Sony RX1Rii is the right camera. But I took the Sony to Portugal last year, so let’s use a different camera.
I’m thinking about the Fuji X-Pro3 now. But somehow I’m not 100% convinced – and I’m not sure why. I think I never really connected with this camera.

It’s a good camera, but I seldom use it. Maybe because I feel I have better cameras, I just don’t know. Last time I took the Fuji for a trip was two years ago, to Taiwan.
In a “money no object” scenario, I would buy a Fuji GFX 100rf and shoot happily in my trip. Then write an extensive post here to share my views.
But ever since I got myself into cycling, I’m burning so much cash now that I am not buying cameras like before.
(You thought photography is an expensive hobby? Cycling is much worse).
So, in short: I’m taking the Fuji. Forcing myself to use the Fuji for two weeks, perhaps I’ll come back with a different impression of this camera.
Let’s see.
