I’m heading out on a 10-day split journey. The first five days will be spent wandering the timeless, layered streets of Istanbul with my wife.
The remaining five will be in Luxembourg, reuniting with my old university friends for a trip that’s less about sightseeing and more about the chaotic joy of being back together.
Two very different vibes, same good problem.
What camera to take with me?
This age-old photographer’s dilemma is back and it’s keeping me awake at night.
As always, need to balance the need for high-end results with the desire to stay light. Definitely crossing-out the Hasselblad: it’s too cumbersome and conspicuous.
Most likely the Fuji GFX100RF, Sony RX1Rii or maybe – just maybe – the Fuji X-Pro3 with the small XF 27mm f/2.8 pancake.
Oh, and there is a black horse in this race: the Leica X Vario.
See why I’m not sleeping well?
