I just picked up a Canon AE-1 Program in pristine condition. It looks brand new and it only cost me 100 USD.

The reason is simple. I’m obsessed with film photography now.

I already own my father’s Canon AE-1 Program, which I’ve featured here before, but it has a faulty shutter. Fixing it would cost more than 100 USD—the market price for a working body today.
So, I figured it was better to just buy another one. Now I have two!

It’s a small price for a lot of fun.
I already have a great set of lenses that my father bought decades ago to use with it. A pair of primes: the FD 50mm f/1.4 and the FD 28mm f/2.8.

There’s also a “lazy” zoom I rarely use, and a macro lens that my brother—who is a dentist—used to photograph his patients’ teeth.

What a beautiful set.

I’ve just loaded a roll of Kodak Tri-X 400. Black & white magic. I can’t wait to see the results.
