Next week I’m heading to Switzerland with my wife. We’ll be spending most of our time in the mountains. I definitely need to step away from the urban fabric, the crowds, the noise, the stress. I need a break, I need to shut off my brain for a while and take a deep breath.

I’m in need of some shutter therapy. Something to slow me down.
I reckon Switzerland is the perfect opportunity to bring my Hasselblad 907x 100c. Paired with the XCD 28mm f/4 offering equivalent 21mm field of view, this is a setup meant for a tripod and meticulous composition. Work things out slowly. Leaving this set at home would be a missed opportunity.
And I’m bringing film too
The Voigtländer Bessa T with two lenses. This time my favorite Leica Summicron 35mm is staying. Instead, I’m packing the Zeiss Biogon 21mm f/2.8 for those wide mountain vistas, and the Leica 50mm Summilux for a different perspective when I get bored of wide angles.
We’re visiting several destinations across the country. I haven’t decided which camera will go where yet. That will depend entirely on the specific spot, the itinerary and my mood.
However, I’ve decided on one firm rule: the moment I step out of the hotel room, I’m carrying only one camera and one lens. Anything more is too distracting to truly enjoy the photography experience.
Wine
Finally, I’m excited to shoot some pro-grade film I bought for this trip: Kodak Portra 400 and Kodak Ektar 100.

These cost me more than my everyday Fujicolor 200. Right now, the Kodaks are sitting at home waiting to be loaded.
It feels like holding onto a few bottles of expensive wine, waiting for the perfect opportunity to pop the cork and drink.
Just writing this puts a smile on my face.
